Four Ways to Use an Old Trade Show Display

Regardless of how careful you are with handling, storing, and repairing your custom trade show display, it is not going to last forever. At some point, you will likely start considering whether it is time to retire it in exchange for something new. So, what do you do with the display at that point? It is not always easy to know how to dispose of a display, or even if the scrapheap is the only place for it. If you have decided to get rid of your trade show display, below are four things you may want to do with it.

Refurbish It

Just because certain parts of your trade show display may no longer be up to your standards, it does not necessarily mean that the entire display is no longer of use. You may be able to replace elements that are no longer working, but keep those that are still in good shape. For example, if the cabinets and display stands are still functional and look good, you may only need to overlay a new set of graphics onto them. Updating signage and other graphics is a great way to give your display new life while also minimizing the cost of replacing it with an entire new one.

Repurpose It

You may no longer want to bring your trade show display to exhibits, but that does not necessarily mean that it is completely unusable. There may be certain elements of it you can repurpose for another use. For example, if shelving in your trade show display is still useful but no longer fits your display, you may want to use them in your office instead.

Donate It

Your older trade show display may no longer be useful to you or your current needs, but that does not mean that no one can use it. Contact local schools, charities, libraries, and other organizations you think may be able to use the display. This will allow you to not only do something good for your community but also save yourself the fees for disposing of it and you may also be able to write off the donation at tax time.

Sell It

Selling a trade show display that no longer serves a purpose for you has many benefits. You will not have to pay anyone to dispose of it and you can even recover some of your initial investment. Websites such as eBay and Angi are great options that will allow you to sell your old display. Just remember that if you do not sell the display right away, you may have to pay additional storage fees until you find the right buyer.
