Lighting is a very important aspect of your trade show display, but it is also often overlooked. When done correctly, trade show display lighting can boost the overall presence and appeal of your exhibit. So, how do you ensure that your lighting showcases the most important elements of your display? First, it is important to know some of the basics when it comes to lighting, and the different types you can use. Below, we explain these two points in further detail.
LED Lighting for Trade Show Displays
Anyone who has been to a trade show has seen the many ways LED lights can be used in exhibits. You can clip them on top of towers, mount them on retractable banner stands, and even light up hanging signs. Typically, LED lights are clamped onto a display or they have a mechanism that attaches the lights to the display. Sometimes connections are made specifically for a certain display while other times, they are a separate system that can be adjusted and connected to a number of different structures.
No more which option you choose, multiple lights are often used and a daisy chain can allow for two or more lights to use the same circuit. Visually, LED lights are often mounted on the top of the display with the light shining onto the exhibit and illuminating the graphic. This type of lighting is very affordable, as these systems can cost anywhere between $75 and $200.
LED Backlighting for Trade Show Displays
Frontlit LED lights are not the only option you have. Backlit LEDs also provide an eye-catching way to illuminate your trade show display. Backlit LED displays typically come in two models – backlit edge lighting and LED ladder lighting.
Backlit edge lighting refers to LED systems that are edged around the frame of a display. Lights are typically mounted on either side of the display. After graphics are added and the displays are plugged in, the light will shine on opposite sides, creating a floodlight effect. Edge lighting can really make your graphics pop.
LED ladder lights, on the other hand, are hung from the top of the display and they extend to the bottom. After they are connected to the transformer and turned on, they are very bright and give a backlit appearance by filling the interior of the display with light. Assembling LED ladder lights is a bit more difficult than edge lighting, and they are also a bit heavier. Still, both options are great and will bring more attention to your display.
