How to Make Your Trade Show Display Pop

Attending a trade show can be great for business, but the competition you will face there is fierce. This is just one reason it is so important to make sure that you have the best trade show display possible. Some people invest in the biggest booths, which can certainly attract the attention of trade show attendees. However, not all business owners have the budget to invest in these huge displays, but using the right trade show design can help you reach your target market while still being cost-effective. Below are some tips you can use to make your trade show display pop.


Using the Right Tagline

Just like billboards, the fewer words you have on your display, the better. Generally speaking, taglines should be seven words or less. Your tagline is the most important part of your display so you should also make sure attendees can read it from ten feet away. This means that your text should be around twelve inches tall. While it is important to display your logo as well, it is secondary to your tagline.


Limit the Number of Images

Pictures are worth a thousand words, but you should still try to limit the amount you use in your display. In most cases, one large photo is enough to get your message across. If you use three, four, or more, your display will look jumbled and will confuse attendees. If you want to show additional images of past jobs or the products you offer, have flyers and brochures to hand out that can include them. 

Many businesses try to get many messages out there in the hope that one sticks in the minds of attendees. Still, using just one or two will give your message a better chance of resonating with your guests.


Use Negative Space

Like many business owners, you may be tempted to fill your trade show display with as much text as possible, or with multiple images. It is important to use negative space, though, so that attendees will understand the importance of your message. Do not confuse negative space with white space, though. You can fill the display with different colors, but you should also limit these to just three so attendees are not confused by the overall display.


Think of the Future

Trade show displays should be thought of as evolving marketing opportunities. You should be able to update them over time so you can showcase different products, programs, or services, depending on the audience you will target at different events. Trade show displays are an investment and if you ensure that they have multiple purposes, you will get much more out of it now and in the future.
