How to Make the Most Out of Any Exhibition

Attending a trade show and exhibiting your products or services is a great way for your company to connect with possible leads and future customers. While at a trade show you can demonstrate your expertise, showcase your offerings, and establish yourself as a leader in your industry. Trade shows also provide opportunities to network with other professionals in your industry and to keep up to date with the latest technologies and trends.

To reap all of the benefits trade shows have to offer, though, you must make the most of them while there. Below are five ways to do this.

Determine the Dimensions of Your Space

First and foremost, you must know the size and layout of the space you will have while at the trade show. Without knowing the dimensions of your space it is impossible to understand the size of display you need, how many staff members you will need to make it work, and how many products you need to bring. Contact the event organizer and ask about the specific dimensions of your space.

Assign Roles and Responsibilities

You likely have an idea of what you want your space to entail. For example, you may want to provide a demonstration of your product, greet all attendees, and answer any questions they may have. While you are deciding how many staff members you need, also determine what roles and responsibilities they will each have so no one is confused on the day of the event.

Train Your Staff

To ensure everyone is organized at the event, inform your staff members about the goals you have for the trade show. Also train them on the products or services you will offer at the show so they are not fumbling around with displays or products. Also inform them of any uniforms you expect them to wear, or provide them with a dress code appropriate for your industry.

Have a Lead Generation Area

Regardless of how big or small your space is at the show, it is important to include an area for lead generation. This can be something as simple as a stack of forms to fill out on a table. Use these forms or another medium to collect contact information from attendees so you can follow up with them after the event.

Evaluate

After the event, evaluate how the staff members performed and consider any feedback you heard from attendees. This can help ensure any future trade show you attend will be successful in the future.
